Get better insights for your decisions with Apta Decision Tree
DTREE is an Excel based application that helps user build a decision tree within the Excel sheet by just clicking few buttons in the Excel toolbar.
Decision trees are useful for analysing sequential decision problems under uncertainty.
DTREE automate calculations for probability weighted average cash flows to obtain outcome values and for calculating rollback values to determine optimal decision.
We believe that DTREE is intutive to a user and one can see all calculation and formulas within the Excel cell. So it is NOT a black box.
It also allows user to verify his conditional probabilities are correct.
One can also see the optimal decision branch by clicking on the decision rule.
Step 1: Click Download. This will take you to a download page on our cloud server. Download the Excel file from the page that opens in new window.
Step 2: After the download, open the file “APTA DTREE 16v3.1”. Enable the Macro. You may get an error message. Ignore the error message and save the file again in a folder you have access to.
Step 3: Launch the re saved excel file “APTA DTREE 16v3.1”. Enable the Macro setting if prompted again.
Step 4: The file will open with message showing license validity. Click OK. Then go to sheet named “DTREE”.
Step 5: You will see a default decision tree in the sheet. That tree is only a very simple example to give you visual idea of how the decision tree looks like in this tool.
Step 6: To draw your own decision tree click on the “APTA” menu next to the “Home” tab at top of this Excel file.In the APTA tab click on the 'Wipe Out' option to start from scratch to start from scratch.
